What personal data we collect and why we collect it

Information We Collect

We only collect information about you if we have a reason to do so — for example, to provide our Services, to communicate with you, or to make our Services better.

We collect this information from three sources: if and when you provide information to us, automatically through operating our Services, and from outside sources. Let’s go over the information that we collect.

Information You Provide to Us

It’s probably no surprise that we collect information that you provide to us directly. Here are some examples:

  • Account information: We ask for personal information from you in order to set up your account if you want to do so to leave a comment or purchase on our online store. For example, we require individuals who sign up for an account to provide their name, last name, email address and billing address. The billing address is needed for tax calculation.
  • Payment information: If you buy something from us, we’ll collect information to process those payments and you’ll provide additional personal and payment information like your name, credit card information, and contact information. We will not store your credit card number nor your security code. This sensitive information is sent to the payments gateways that will process the payments. We “store” credit cards via a secure method called tokenization. Tokenized payment methods are used for recurring payments or for convenience in future purchases by the logged-in customer.
  • Content information: You might provide us with information about you in draft and published content (a blog post or comment that includes biographic information about you, or any media or files you upload).

Information We Collect Automatically

We also collect some information automatically:

  • Log information: Like most online service providers, we collect information that web browsers, mobile devices, and servers typically make available, including the browser type, IP address, unique device identifiers, language preference, referring site, the date and time of access, operating system, and mobile network information. We collect log information when you use our Services — for example, when you navigate through our website, make a comment or a purchase.
  • Usage information: We collect information about your usage of our Services. For example, we collect information about the actions that administrators and users perform on a site using WordPress.com or Jetpack services — in other words, who did what and when (e.g., [WordPress.com username] deleted “[title of post]” at [time/date]). The WooCommerce Usage Tracker also tracks information like the Website administrator email address, WooCommerce settings, and PHP settings, along with information about this website online store, like the aggregate number of orders and customers. This information is used to, for example, provide our Services to you, get insights on how people use our Services so we can make our Services better, and understand and make predictions about user retention.
  • Location information: We may determine the approximate location of your device from your IP address. We collect and use this information to, for example, calculate how many people visit our Services from certain geographic regions. We may also collect information about your precise location via our mobile apps (like when you post a photograph with location information) if you allow us to do so through your mobile device operating system’s permissions.
  • Information from cookies & other technologies: A cookie is a string of information that a website stores on a visitor’s computer, and that the visitor’s browser provides to the website each time the visitor returns. Pixel tags (also called web beacons) are small blocks of code placed on websites and emails. This Website uses cookies and other technologies like pixel tags to help us identify and track visitors, usage, and access preferences for our Services, as well as track and understand email campaign effectiveness and to deliver targeted ads. For more information about our use of cookies and other technologies for tracking, including how you can control the use of cookies, please see the WordPress Cookie Policy.

Comments

When visitors leave comments on the web, we collect the data displayed in the comment form, as well as the visitor’s IP address and the browser’s user agent chain to aid in spam detection.

An anonymous string created from your email address (also called a hash) can be provided to the Gravatar service to see if you are using it. The Gravatar service privacy policy is available here: https://automattic.com/privacy/. After your comment is approved, your profile image is visible to the public in the context of your comment.

Name, email address, content of the comment: this data is collected when you leave a comment and displayed on the Website.

If you leave a comment on the Website, your name and email address will also be saved in cookies. These are for your convenience so that you do not have to fill in your details again when you leave another comment. These cookies will be saved on your computer until you delete them.

IP and browser user agent string: this data is collected when you leave a comment.

Retention period: the aforementioned data is retained indefinitely so we can recognize and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.

We collect information about visitors who comment on this website using the Akismet anti-spam service. The information we collect typically includes the commenter’s IP address, the user’s browser, the referring site, and the site’s URL (in addition to other information directly provided by the commenter, such as their name, username, email address email and the same comment).

Media

All uploaded files are normally publicly accessible.

Images uploaded to this website should avoid the inclusion of location data (GPS EXIF). Web visitors can download and extract any location data from images on the web.

If you fill our contact form, the information you put there, which will undoubtedly contain your personal data, will come to us in an email so we can give you an answer and depending on the configuration of this website, a copy may reach you. We may store copies of the forms we receive on this website, in our database, for an indefinite period of time for customer service, security and marketing purposes. If you receive any marketing communication that you did not want to receive or do not want to receive more communications from us, you can request your data deletion from our website.

Cookies

If you leave a comment on our site you can choose to save your name, email address and website in cookies. This is for your comfort, so you don’t have to fill in your details again when you leave another comment. These cookies will last for one year.

If you select “Remember me”, your access will last for two weeks. If you leave your account, access cookies will be removed.

If you edit or publish an article, an additional cookie will be saved in your browser. This cookie does not include personal data and simply indicates the ID of the article you just edited. It expires after 1 day.

Embedded content from other websites

Content on the Website may include embedded content (e.g. videos, charts, etc.). Embedded content from other websites behaves in the exact same way as if the visitor had visited the other website.

These websites may collect data about you, use cookies, embed additional third-party tracking, and monitor your interaction with that embedded content, including tracing your interaction with the embedded content if you have an account and are logged in to that website.

Statistics

The website uses Google Analytics, a service which transmits website traffic data to Google servers in the United States and allows us to notice trends to improve the user experience on our website. This processes personal data such as: the unique User ID set by Google Analytics, the date and time, the title of the page being viewed, the URL of the page being viewed, the URL of the page that was viewed prior to the current page, the screen resolution, the time in local timezone, the files that were clicked on and downloaded, the links clicked on to an outside domain, the type of device, and the country, region, and city.

You may opt out of this tracking at any time by activating the “Do Not Track” setting in your browser.

With whom we share your data

This website has been built using WordPress open source software. WordPress may collect information, as indicated in its privacy policy and this privacy policy too, about users of this website.

In addition, as we detailed in the statistics section, we share information from our users with the Google Analytics service. We could also share it with other visitor analytics services, anti spam services, social networks, etc.

We use an online store on this website built with WooCommerce so it’s possible that WooCommerce, an Automattic company, as well as WordPress, collect information about the users of our online store.

Also it is necessary to collect and send information to the payment gateways of our online store.

The payment gateways installed in our online store are PayPal, Stripe and Braintree.

Below we attach links to the privacy policies of these third party softwares we use on our website.

What kind of automated decision-making and / or profiling do we do with user data

We do not provide a service that includes automated decision making – for example, allowing customers to apply for credit or adding their data in an advertising profile – If we do, we will give notice this is happening, and we will include information on how that is used, what decisions are made with that aggregated data, and what rights users have over decisions made without human intervention.

Regulatory requirements for the disclosure of sector information

Europamente, within its VPN service, is obliged by European law to keep logs of the activity of its users for a period of one year. These records cannot be reviewed by Europamente. But should be kept in case there is a court order to turn them over to the competent authorities.
